What Clients Want

Learn what clients want from a coach here at the Australian Institute of Professional Coaches

In this competitive business world we’re in, we need to have an edge over the competition in order to stay relevant. One of the things that can give us an edge over the others is going into coaching.

Coaching is now recognised for the power and value it gives to individuals, teams and organisations around the word. It is a booming industry. So, if you are an aspiring coach, a coach who’s just starting off, or a coach who wants to improve what you do, this article is for you!

In this article, we will be talking about what clients want when it comes to choosing a coach. Here are the top three things that will surely appear on their list:

1. A professionally trained coach – someone who has been trained by a highly reputable coach training institute.

Most of the people who want to be coached are the leaders of their organisations. This is because they understand why coaching is necessary for them and how important the role of a coach is for their improvement. They view coaching as something that can help them achieve their goals and also become a better version of themselves.

Since they view coaching as something significant, making sure that having a professionally trained coach is on top of their list.

2. An approachable person – someone who is easy to talk with.

Coaching is not just a one-way street. It involves two people working together for the benefit of one. The coach needs to know the coachee – what their goals are and what they want to achieve. That’s why a good fit between a coachee and a coach is essential.

3. An affordable coach – someone who works with clients on an ongoing basis to help them achieve their goals.

Being a coach is a very fulfilling profession – you get to help people understand and believe in themselves more, you get to help them turn their weaknesses into strengths and help them use these strengths to reach their goals. Being in this profession takes time and dedication of both parties. Since this is the case, clients want someone who is affordable and can help them on an ongoing basis.

Indeed clients want their coach to be there for them – to stand firm with them through thick and thin – to share the joys and support them when they are down. We all have moments like that. They want coaches who use their background and experience to help others achieve their dreams, overcoming the barriers that may present themselves along the way.

Does that sound like you? Are you up for the challenge of becoming a Professional Coach? Believe in yourself because you can!
